Revalation...

... I had to make an emergency trip to Canada for family reasons and couldnt bring my puppy or my piggers with me. I had to make hasty arrangements for their care in which I had a "Friend" that was supposed to come by 2 times a day to walk my puppy and feed the piggers well come to find out he came by 2 times in the 4 days I was gone (and hadnt done anything for the piggers as he said he was in a hurry when he did come over and forgot about the piggers) . When I left on wednesday night I gave the boys a ton of romaine, carrots & other veggies, pellets and filled the water bottle up with fresh water (not like they have ever used it). Well I come home to find out that he hadnt been over like he was supposed to and fear the worst for my piggers. I walked into their room and they had finished all the hay in the hay rack, almost all the hay in their hidey house filled with hay, all the pellets and all the veggies as well as the entire bottle of water (guess when they need to they figured out what it was for). As I walked in I have never heard such loud wheeking it broke my heart and I quickly scooped them up and cuddled with them as my fiance made them a feast. Never again will I trust my boys to anyone else for care.

Re: Revalation...

Oh that REALLY sucks, that you can't even trust a friend . I have a short 3 day vacation coming up in November also, and I'm debating who to ask to watch my piggers. My brother in law and his girlfriend live in our house and she seems to really like Nismo, so I might ask her since she already lives there, but even with that I'm still skeptical of leaving him to AnYONE's care :/ Already I feel like noone can take care of him as well as I can

Re: Revalation...

An exotic vet may board your pigs. So may a kennel. Check around, at least they will make sure they have food and water. My exotic vet boards exotics. They charge $11 a day. Just an idea! :0)

Re: Revalation...

Two times in four days?!?! What about your poor PUPPY?!

This is an EX-friend now, right? Wow. I'd just be livid. I'm so sorry!

Re: Revalation...

Thats so sad! I'm glad to hear they're okay. I only trust ONE person with my piggies, and that's my friend who also has some.

I feel so bad for you and your animals!

Re: Revalation...

Well the puppy wasnt an issue ( other than a little mess in the house thank god I have a carpet steamer) we left a HUGE bowl of water and HUGE bowl of food out for her she was good to go on that other than the bordem part. The piggers require fresh food daily and yes that is an EX Friend at this time.
