My water bottle leaks like a sieve! Can anyone suggest a different brand?

Hi everyone, I know that this is probably a repeat of someone elses post but when I try to type in water bottle there seems to be a lot of stuff to sort through and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Anyway I have 2 16oz SuperPet water bottles that I bought from Amazon and at first they seemed great. But after about a week one started to leak. At first I thought that I might not have in in correctly so I adjusted it and that seemed to help for a day or too. Then one morning I came down and my poor babies had only about an ounce of water left in their bottle and the area under the bottle was swampy. I changed it out and but in the second Super Pet bottle and thought maybe the other was just defective. No luck it has started to leak too and I am having to check the piggies water several times every day just to be sure they don't run out of water (I was checking the bottles 2 times per day) not to mention I am worried that all of the water in the bottom of the cage is going to case the piggies to get sick or get sores on their feet. I have watched them to see if they are playing with the bottles and making them leak, but that does not appear to be what is happening. Can anyone recommend a different brand or style of water bottle or perhaps think of something I might be doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated... I am trying to get this problem solved because school starts for me soon and I don't want the piggies to run out of water while I am away! Thanks so much.

A trick I learned on this board: fill the bottle all the way, squeeze the bottle so that the water forms a convex bubble over the neck, then screw the top back on and don't release the squeeze until you flip the bottle rightside up. It helps form a vacuum and prevent leaks. HTH!

I use a Lixit flip top bottle, mine looks like this

It doesn't leak, and instead of the ball the pigs push it has a little stick they have to move, and no water comes out unless they move that stick up into the bottle. I've been using it for years and still not leaks and I love it. By far my favorite water bottle.

Thanks PrincessAngel for the info and including the picture of the bottle. It really helps! I was wondering did your piggies have any trouble learning how to use theh stick attachment that is in this bottle instead of the ball thing? I am thinking about trying it if you think my girls might be able to figure out how to get water from it.

My girls had no trouble at all figuring out the stick! All my girls had only had the ball bottles before and were completely fine with the new one. One of them discovered that if she holds her tongue in there that water will run out all over the cage and make mommy give her attention
