Hi, Cavygurl.
My piggy used to jump from one level to another in his four leveled cage. No ramps at all - originally, there were two ramps that he just ignored, so I removed them. I started with two levels, and as he liked them, later I installed a third one.
The three shelves were at 8 inches, 6 inches, and 7 inches above each other - the top floor was at 21 inches above the "ground" level. There was a hidey hole about 4 inches high on the ground level to help him get started to the first floor. It just added to the fun of going up and down the different levels, as he would jump straight up (or down) to the 8 inches high shelf whenever he was in a hurry.
He loved to stay at the top floor and he slept there. As the cage was located on a 35 inches high cabinet, he was almost at eye level for an adult to pet him.
I believe your
cavy will have fun with the new second level on his cage.
