Why doesn't he like the ramp?

I made my piggy a cube and coroplast cage with a loft but he is afraid of the ramp. Why? How can I make him want to use the ramp without force?

Here is a link to pictures. Please feel free to tell me if I have done something wrong. I want my Fred to be happy.

Thanks

I'm not an expert on this, but I would think it would help to add little wood strips at intervals on the ramp, or add a solid railing of some sort on the open edge. Maybe Fred isn't convinced it's safe the way it is now. The more you can avoid any possibility of slipping the better, and the more tunnel-like it is, the safer it will feel to Fred. Our piggers go for anything that resembles a tunnel. Or, he might just need time to get used to it, so just waiting could work too.

Fred sure is cute... for anyone who has trouble viewing that page, try www.geocities.com/richard.../Fred.html (F must be capitalized)

Thanks for the idea! I added the rungs and he doesn't seem so intimidated. And thanks for the help with the address too!

Is it normal for them to be more active during the night? Or do I have the only noctournal Guinea Pig in existance?

Nocturnal?

They may be more active during the night because you aren't around. They know you're not around, and since they are prey animals, they hide from you- their "predator". It's just an instinct- you're not really a predator. At least I hope not...
