They were using it and then it just became too much to have to clean out everyday. Plus they would get in it and get so dirty. We stopped using it after a few weeks. they would only pee in it too. They poop mainly in the corners under their fleece forests. If you look only a page back I think, you will see what my cage looks like now.

Oooo I am so excited! I just revamped my girls cage today and even though my fingers are VERY sore I am proud to say I built them a palace! Its a tri-level 2x4 top and bottom level with a "U" shaped second level!! My girls are gonna LOVE it! I am not finished yet as I have been working on it all day and just got tired. I will post pics as soon as I am done.
Bela's new cage. The ramp isn't in and to be quite honest I think I just want the upper part as a storage space. The bedding is getting sewed tomorrow. It's sparse and I'm not quite sure what to put in it... I would love suggestions though! Also I noticed in some pics people have fleece hanging from a grid, what is the purpose of that? I love the way it looks so I think I might do it.![]()
Im excited im building my cage this weekend! Cant wait to post pics
Wow I just LOVE seeing all these cages! They keep giving me more and more ideas. It it was up to me I would find a way to snake a cage around our entire living room but I am positive my Husband will not give me the ok for that. I already tried to suggest making a cage about the size of a twin mattress and he just gave me the look.Oh well. Maybe one day when all our kiddos are grown up and gone. Hopefully then I will be able to start a cavy rescue.
Well, I had to rehome 2 of my girls, and so Baby and Trudy got an updated cage![]()
Reduced the 2x5 to a 2x4 and added a 1x2 loft/kitchen area.
Those of you who are looking to add a kitchen or loft area...DO IT NOW!! I procrastinated for weeks, and I love it, wish I had done it months ago. The little bits of hay don't get stuck to the fleece...the ramp keeps the bedding fairly contained, just awesome. Can't tell you how much of a difference it has made!
This is Trudy in the kitchen area...Looking for some other type of bedding for this area besides Carefresh, which I love but is darned expensive!
Baby!!
The Cage!!

Our 2x4 cage. I am loving fleece and no longer having to throw out wood bedding every day. My kids and I made this over the weekend. We put the hay rack in today. Piggie loves hay, but doesn't even seem to notice it too much. Maybe it should be a little lower?
Location is temporary, in the wintertime he won't be right next to the radiator.
I may post some tomorrowCleaning day!
