Here are my girls cages right after I put their new fleece liners in that I just made! My first ones too since I just switched to fleece! Still making them more potty pads and made a tunnel since! I am coming to LOVE LOVE LOVE fleece! So easy to just sweep up all the poops twice a day

Do they use the bathroom? I have one too, but mine like to move there hidey igloo and litterbox around.... and they used it like once but they poop everywhere alll over the cage. Do yours do that? or only use the box?

Are those litter boxes filled with hay for them to go potty in or eat? Do they potty in the boxes or no?

They were using it and then it just became too much to have to clean out everyday. Plus they would get in it and get so dirty. We stopped using it after a few weeks. they would only pee in it too. They poop mainly in the corners under their fleece forests. If you look only a page back I think, you will see what my cage looks like now.

Not trying to offend you or anything. I am just use to my girls cage a 2 x7 but anyways I was just saying I like the shelfs. That was the main point in the post.

This is not a current cage, but it was definitely my best one and the most creative for me. A bit insane. I couldn't calculate the exact square footage but I know it was atleast 40 square feet, probably a bit more.

Oooo I am so excited! I just revamped my girls cage today and even though my fingers are VERY sore I am proud to say I built them a palace! Its a tri-level 2x4 top and bottom level with a "U" shaped second level!! My girls are gonna LOVE it! I am not finished yet as I have been working on it all day and just got tired. I will post pics as soon as I am done.

Hello - they go potty in the litter boxes and eat the hay. I make sure its kept fresh so they don't eat soiled hay and they have hayracks too I notice they tend to only pee on one side of the trays too.

Bela's new cage. The ramp isn't in and to be quite honest I think I just want the upper part as a storage space. The bedding is getting sewed tomorrow. It's sparse and I'm not quite sure what to put in it... I would love suggestions though! Also I noticed in some pics people have fleece hanging from a grid, what is the purpose of that? I love the way it looks so I think I might do it.Let's see your cage Pictures please.-bela.jpg

Sadly it still wasn't big enough to keep Zoloft and Xanax from fighting, so unfortunately I had to re-home him. But I still have my three troublesome teenagers...yeesh!

Side note: does anyone know of a place where to get the little connectors cheap in Minnesota? I find them online everywhere, but then they want to charge you twice as much for shipping.
What kind of tables do you have your cages on? I'm looking for something exactly like that. Are they from Ikea?

Wow I just LOVE seeing all these cages! They keep giving me more and more ideas. It it was up to me I would find a way to snake a cage around our entire living room but I am positive my Husband will not give me the ok for that. I already tried to suggest making a cage about the size of a twin mattress and he just gave me the look. Oh well. Maybe one day when all our kiddos are grown up and gone. Hopefully then I will be able to start a cavy rescue.

Re: Let's see your cage Pictures please.

Well, I had to rehome 2 of my girls, and so Baby and Trudy got an updated cage

    Reduced the 2x5 to a 2x4 and added a 1x2 loft/kitchen area.

Those of you who are looking to add a kitchen or loft area...DO IT NOW!! I procrastinated for weeks, and I love it, wish I had done it months ago. The little bits of hay don't get stuck to the fleece...the ramp keeps the bedding fairly contained, just awesome. Can't tell you how much of a difference it has made!

This is Trudy in the kitchen area...Looking for some other type of bedding for this area besides Carefresh, which I love but is darned expensive!

Our 2x4 cage. I am loving fleece and no longer having to throw out wood bedding every day. My kids and I made this over the weekend. We put the hay rack in today. Piggie loves hay, but doesn't even seem to notice it too much. Maybe it should be a little lower?
Location is temporary, in the wintertime he won't be right next to the radiator.

Looks good! Definitely put the hay rack lower.. So he doesn't have to stand up to reach :-)
