In dire need of a hand vacuum

I have this vacuum: Europro SV75 Shark Cordless Hand Vacuum, Shark Cordless Vacuum, Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaner, Motorized Vacuum Cleaner, Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, Cordless Hand Vacuum

I hated it from the beginning. It has a cloth filter inside the main compartment that collects everything and get's gross, fast! It's time for a new one, and while looking in store and online is great, I thought personal experiences from you guys would be best. From those who use it for the same purpose as I will.

So, in your experience, which brand of vacuum (or specific vacuum even) is the best for picking up piggy duties? Easy to clean, empty, etc.

We have a Black & Decker Dustbuster 14.4v Wet+Dry vac and really like it. "Filter" is actually a sponge that can be washed when it starts to get a bit gross. Easy to clean and easy to empty.

It has great reviews. Here's a link to it on Amazon: Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster: Amazon.com: Home & Kitchen

I use a Sunbeam Wet/Dry dustbuster I got at Walmart on sale for $19.
It has a washable cup and filter. Works great for me!

I tried using a hand vac but prefer to remove the fleece pads and shake them out or sweep the droppings. The hand vac smelled bad from the droppings and the sound of it scared my guinea pigs.

You're most welcome! Chester isn't afraid of the vacuum either......handheld or floor vac. I think it's all in what they become accustomed to. He has such absolute trust in me that almost nothing scares him so long as I'm nearby.

I have this black and decker one and love it! A hand vac is one of my must have guinea pig tools.
