Question Good option for C&C cage?

I found these online and at my local walmart. I was wondering if anyone has used them or if they would be good for a C&C cage? I'm looking to build one this weekend.

Are they plastic or mesh? If they're some sort of metal screen, they'd probably be okay since there would be ventilation. The only thing I'm not sure about is if they could catch a nail on them or if poop would get stuck into the mesh. If they're sold plastic, I don't think they'd work since there might not be enough ventilation with solid plastic sides.

I was reading thru the product info and it says they are metal so I think metal mesh? Poo I think wont get stuck as long as no one kicks it anywhere :P As for nails getting stuck, That might be a problem if its a fine mesh. Will have to check it when I go to the store next. Thanks Pinky

The panels are smaller than regular grids. So you'll need more panels than regular grids. They seem to be shorter too.

Good point Lissie. Im not sure on the dementions of the panels themselves but was thinking about making a half round adition to the cage. Not sure how that would work with traditonal grids. I also want to use them as a block for my lower shelves in my craft room so they can have all the floor during floor time. I think the mesh would also keep them from pulling cords in if my back is turned for a second. My rats used to pull all kinds of things in if I wasn't watching them.
