Please read the whole post before jumping on me

Due to money circumstances I MAY be moving back in with my mom. I will have to make a room out of the garage as there is no empty bedrooms. Obviously the guinea pig will have to stay with me. (I put her in the adoption area, but if she doesnt get adopted) It is an attached garage, fully dry wall (no cement except floor) I will be be putting carpet down and it has air and heat vents.
My question is, will this be safe? I will invest in a air purifier or anything else that could make it safer. I won't just be throwing her out there alone. Obviously if -I- wouldn't live out there I wouldn't put her out there. I spend 90% of the time where I sleep so she will be watched constantly.


This isn't decided yet, as my guinea pigs health comes first.

I would think as long as it has no way for critters to get in or out and has no drafts it would be fine... What is it used as now? A garage or....?

A garage yes, but no cars are parked in it. Just pretty much to store junk. If we move in everything will go to storage and it will be cleaned up completely.

Ok cool, then yeah if cars haven't been parked in there and there's no smells or chemicals from that then you should be good to go.

I'm considering putting mine in the garage, just for the amount of room out there. Right now they are in our third bedroom, and the cages take up the majority of the room they are in. I was concerned about light and the fact that it isn't heated. Which won't be a huge deal this summer, but with my slowly growing herd, I think more room would be a better idea. Hubby is all for it, said we could invest in a space heater. The garage is currently used as a garage, walls are complete, floors are concrete. I planned on doing a heavy cleaning out there in the next month - including sanitizing the floor. I am still thinking this over. Would love to hear more comments too.
