I learned to sew today!

I am so excited and so proud of myself, . I learned to sew today and I enjoyed it too! Here is the very first thing I made! It is a big pillow and one end has a "cover and the other end is open in case they aren't in the mood to hide but want to "relax." LOL They love it too!

That's a cute idea!! I'm about to try to make a liner for a c&c cage, sewing by hand since I have no idea how to operate a sewing machine - it ought to be interesting

I started sewing by hand to make my fleece liners and it was killing my wrist! My mom brought her machine down and taught me today and it goes so fast. Good luck and post pics of your projects!

Yeah, I have tendinitis so it will probably take a couple days! I learned how to sew by hand when I was like 12, but this summer I learned how to sew denim by hand when I hemmed some jeans I cut off, because designers apparently decided junior shorts should be about as long as underwear or a swimsuit bottom. I refused to conform=). So hopefully fleece can't be much harder! I'll definately post pictures afterwords!

Edit: I learned to sew by hand, not see. . Although if I could see by hand that would be pretty sweet. . Ahh, darn you autocorrect!

That is awesome! I just started sewing agian a month ago(after a 20 year break) but have only done fleece pads and liners for the boys cage. I think I'm going to try your little tunnel/pillow but did you use something to make the tunnel stay up?

At hobby lobby I found foam sheets in the craft section. They are thin and bendable/flexible. It is perfect! I sewed completely around the foam so my piggies can't chew it.

Your project is absolutely awesome!! Really do love it. Congrats on sewing it's super hard at first but for a first time sew project you did fabulous!
