Cage Not Indoors? Mum severely allergic to hay??
Hello, I posted a question about this before. MY guinea pigs are living in an insulated shed 4x8ft roughly, and we've tested them with different hay indoors a while back, but my mum had runny nose, red puffy eyes all the classic signs f very bad hayfever. We kept the hay outdoors and everything but she still streamed. Her allergies (and my intolerence - not very bad allergies like mum does) to hay seem to have worsened as even when i bring my guinea pigs in with no hay she gets the symptoms. She and I were tested twice - both allergic to hay and mum was also allergic to dust. Is there ANYTHING we can do? I'm so upset they can't live indoors
And whatever yu do, DO NOT tell me I can't keep them becase I was told that once on yahoo answers and it got me even more upset. Btw they still are happy popcorning piggies and stuff - they just don't live indoors. Also the shed is weather-proof and animal proof and locked at night.
Thanks for all your help!

Has she seen an allergist? I'm allergic to my pigs and they are living indoors. I'm taking allergy meds and also inhaler for asthma.
i know most allergist will tell you to rehome them (mine did). But as long as the meds can help you control the symptoms, I don't see why you can't keep them.

Thanks. Will see what we can get. Will the allergist recommend or presribe meds?
