I have a coroplast hay box that I made for my girls. I love it b/c it keeps most of the hay contained & I can fill it up so it will last them 1/2 a day (they eat a lot of hay!). But I have noticed that my girls eat the tape I used to hold the coroplast together!!!! Do you have any suggestions on what I can do? I hate to use a grid for the hay box b/c the hay will get everywhere.
You can poke holes in the coroplast and use zip ties to hold the box together.
They will eat the zip ties too!!!
Hmmmm...could you purchase a cat litter box or something similar to it and use that? You could put it inside the cage and either cut an opening in the side so they can go inside, or make a ramp for them to go up and into the box with.
I've been using old baby wipe boxes from my god son. I take off the top and stuff it full of hay. It's like a plastic tissue box and I've haven't had any problems with them chewing on it. Make sure you wash it out before giving it to them, just to be safe.

I was wondering if hot glue would work. You would obviously have to have "flaps" on your coro box but if they are not eating the coro and only the tape then they wouldn't eat the glue either.
