Thinking of changing the cage a bit .........
Currently it's 2 x 4 with a 1 x 2 upper level kitchen to the far right. The kitchen has eliminated the problems of hay all over and piggy poos and pees everywhere.
But now I'm thinking of bringing the kitchen to the middle of the cage and dropping it 8 inches and having not one but two ramps (one on each side) of the kitchen.
Currently I have the ramp made out of an old store bought cage with a liner (for safety) inside of it and then a strip of carpet on top of that. But I'm wondering if I could use coroplast instead of the wire ramp since the incline of the ramp will be less.
Any thoughts of suggestions?
Thanks

Hi
I have to say that Im building mine too..I will use a grid to make the ramp, I guess that coroplast is not strong enought to hold . Why dont u use a grid and cover it?
All the Best

I wouldn't trust coro only. Not very strong.
And remember that a ramp is taking off place from your 2x4, reducing the total area. So 2 remove twice as much.
I used a wood board, covered with mat and with coro sides for my ramp.

Re: Thinking of changing the cage a bit .........
I guess I should have clarified a little better. Currently the ramp is taking up the lengh of 2 grids long x 1 grid high. So really they're losing running space by not being able to run the perimeter of the entire cage.
And if I move the kitchen to the center (between the 2nd and 3rd grid), drop it down 7 inches and have the ramp come out just alongside the center of the two grids (off-center), there's plenty of running space. And I might have to scrap the idea of a second ramp on the other side.
Checking out other pictures of ramps, it looks like many of them use only coro. But you could be correct that it might not be stroung enough so I'll glue a piece of moulding to the bottom of the ramp.
I could also binder clip fleece "curtains" to the bottom of the kitchen and create a hiding space.
Thoughts?

You can use 2 or 3 layers of coroplast. That should be strong enough.
