What is the best and easiest way to break off a piece of the connectors?

I am making a door and zip tieing it on one side for hinges. Anyways I don't want to make the cage off balnced so I need to break off one of the pieces in the corner connectors, so it will swing open.

I used a little saw then a file.
Maybe you can try to mark where you want it to break with a knife or something then use some pliers if you dont have a saw

I would say a hacksaw would probably work best on the connectors. What I did when they got in the way was just leave them off and add extra cable ties on the grids. At this point I kind of wish I left them off the whole darn cage. I keep changing it and they keep getting in the way.

For a swinging door I just cut the corner square out of the grid instead of cutting the connector itself.
