Are my grids not high enough?
Today I came home from work and went to go check on my boys and girls. I had moved my boys to my closet because they could have more room. They now have a 3x4 C&C in my closet. However when I looked inside (I don't close the door) My youngest piggie Fonz was outside of the cage! Could he have jumped or climbed out? He is about 3-4 months old. He is the newest addition to my boy piggie herd, there are only three of them though. I do have two girl piggie who are in the actual bedroom, but neither cage can see the other.
What do you guys think?

Re: Are my grids not high enough?
Ha! I remember this happend to me once. I came home one day, turned on the light and saw something DASH! across the floor. It freaked me out, but I quickly realized it was naughty Chauncey who managed to break apart the grids, and go by Grimace's cage. They were in seperate cages because they got into a pretty nasty fight, and didn't get along. He was like going over to him saying "This is my house! My house, I say!"
He could of easily jumped over the grids, if he had something strong enough to motivate him. I say he did it for the ladies.

Boys can climb out if they can smell the girls. You might want to put a lid on your cage.

Ah! Your cage must not be baby-proofed. You need to add additional height for a few months. Mine can jump out, and will jump out if they get the chance. We have other pets, so we have a lid.

Re: Are my grids not high enough?
At 3 months my girls were still able to climb through the holes in the grids so they were baby proofed (double gridded) still are double gridded, so they do not squeeze through. 9x9 holes might be too big for your youngster. You may need higher coro walls or overlap grids.
