I Don't Know What To Do...

So I just bought my grids and realized like a lot of people that buy them from Target that they are 8x8 I am very upset after all the research I did I never once came across the fact Targets grids were unsafe.

I know now they are unsafe and I know I am going to have to return the $40 in grids I just bought. The only problem is that it takes Target a week to refund money and I don't have another $40 to buy new grids. All that aside I am getting my cavy on Saturday and he is going to need a cage.

I don't know what to do I am so frustrated right now I was so looking forward to putting this together and now I don't know what to do. I am going to return the grids tomorrow after work but that means I won't have my money back till Thursday next week.

One final question where can I get some safe grids to use?

Why does it take a week to get a refund from Target? If you have the receipt they should just take them back and give you a refund on the spot or let you exchange them.

Some Targets still carry the safe 9x9 grids you just have to look at the box. At worst, if Target won't refund, do you have another cage or something you could use as a temporary measure?

Just some FYI, if you were doing research here on this forum, at the top of all the major forum sections there is a warning on the Target grids.

I work at Target and if you have a receipt, it does not take a week to refund your money! They do it on the spot!
Even if you paid with Visa or MC, they'll give you the cash if that's what you want...right away.

I don't know where you live but you can get some at mijer, I found them there around the hardware/paint department somehow. I can give you the serial number, exact name, and other information off the box if you would like, as that would help you tell the store what you are looking for.

I got my safe 9x9 grids at Bed Bath and Beyond. They only cost $12.99 per box (after using 20% off coupon).

Even if you paid with Visa or MC, they'll give you the cash if that's what you want...right away.

I worked at Target, and they will not refund you cash if you paid with a Visa or MC unless it was as a debit purchase. Otherwise, they refund it back to the credit card. If you paid with a check, then there is a set number of days to allow the check to clear. You can always get a store credit though regardless of how you paid.

I bought my grids at Bed, Bath & Beyond. However, you could overlap the grids you got from Target to make grids that have more appropriate openings (like if you are baby-proofing).
