Question Cage Question

I have a cage question. I currently have a 2x4 C&C cage that I want to expand to 3x5 ... I recently adopted a female guinea pig who, unknowingly, was pregnant and gave birth to 3 pups the other night. I have already baby proofed her current cage but I'm unsure if I plan to keep any/all of her babies so I'd like to expand her cage "just in case". Space-wise it's much more convenient for me to make her cage 1 grid wider but 1 grid shorter than the recommended for 4 pigs. Would this still be adequate space for the amount of pigs?

Re: Cage Question

It's more than enough. The recommended size for 4 is 2x6, which is an equivalent of 3x4. Your pigs will be very happy in a 3x5. Make sure to separate the males from females at 21 days.

thanks, I already have the pups sexed and 2 of the 3 are females. The male will be going into an entirely different cage to avoid any "accidents." No worries, he won't be alone, we have an existing male as a playmate for him.
