Neutral : -1 (+0/-1) My piggies are in a frequently visited bedroom that always has the door shut right now but I want to put them closer to the center of attention. I have two hyper dogs and a cat and I am skeptical about putting Chex and Popcorn in the living room. I am thinking about putting them in my computer/ work room (dog-free room) but my cat still has range of that room. Is it ok to have the piggies in the computer room or will that be too stressful with the cat always around? All help is appreciated! Last edited by Paula; 09-28-09 at 04:26 pm. Color is emphasis only. I think it would be a good idea to edit this and change it to black text if there is still time. If the cats actually freak them out, then I would advise putting the pigs near them. However, as long as you have a secure top on your cage and your guinea pigs are fine around the cats, then I see no problem with have them in a computer room. |

I have 7 cats and my 2 boys live in the living room. It should be fine, just use a secure, strong (closet shelving or such) lid and lots of zip ties, just in case kitty decides to take a nap on the top. I used the mesh grids to keep kitty fingers out of the cage but, if you already have your cage set up, you could drape or wrap the cage with window screen to keep the kitty at bay. After awhile, my cats were "ho-hum, it's just the piggs" about the boys. Now the cats will sit on the couch when I have one of the boys in my lap and will sniff him and then go to sleep beside us. |
