I just had to share here, I added these to my photo gallery. I say this is my FINAL design, we will see.

The bottom level is 3 X 4, going up to the 2nd level (where you see Fred hanging out) which is 1 X 4, the grids on the front wall of the 2nd level are grids cut in 1/2, so I can get to it for cleaning and stuff. Then there's the top level of 2 X 4. The whole reason for the second level is so the tunnels wouldn't be so steep. Works really well, they are enjoying it!!! Running up and down, up and down, popping around everywhere, they are so funny!!

I'm so proud of hubby, he's so ingenious when it comes to design!!

Wow, that's... Amazing ('cept for the toy dog stuck on level two, heh)! I wish I were that crafy and patient.

Question- what size are the tunnels you use? My pigs are all pretty big and I don't want them to get stuck... my biggest one is about 6 and a half inches in diameter at her widest part, her hips. Some of that is fluff, and I'm sure she could squish into something smaller, but I don't want to take any chances...

Hubby used a 120 grit sandpaper, it works great, and helps with their nails.

That is a wonderful cage! I'm sure your pigs love it!

However, I would not use sandpaper. It creates dust and isn't good for their lungs. Plus it's a bit too rough on their feet. I got a black rubber mat from home depot for a few dollars, cut it up, and used it to line my ramp. It works quite well. You might want to look into this or something similar.

Other than that, it looks excellent!

I agree on the sandpaper.

Where did you get the tubing. I was looking for tubing like that and couldn't find it.

I think this grit is a little too coarse for piggy feet. Ask your hubby about sandpaper from the 360-600 grit range. It's a lot smoother, but it still had grip. Super fine sandpaper does not create dust. : )

Fine sandpaper does still create some dust, and I'm not sure it would provide sufficient grip anyway. There are many good alternatives to sand paper. You can always check out the galleries for ideas.
