Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
I'm building my guinea pigs a 2x4 C&C Cage, but I cannot find the cubes anywhere! I checked Costco, Target, and Bed Bath & Beyond, but they don't have 12 grids and 24 connectors like I need. Is there any other store that may have what I need? I have found one package that has 16 grids and 18 connectors, but I need 24. What could I use instead of the connectors to connect the cubes? Where did you get your cubes, connectors, and coroplast? I need some help here ... making a C&C Cage is proving to be harder than I thought .... Thanks in advance. |

You can use zip ties instead of connectors. In fact, many people like them better than connectors. They are very cheap. If you have extra grids, you can use them for things like hay racks, tunnels, a stand, a ramp, etc. Make sure you get the grids with 9 holes across, not 8. |

You can buy them online only from Wal-mart if all else fails. Where do you live? I don't know if you have a Fred Meyer in your area, but that's where I got mine (and they were on sale!). I think they're associated with Kroger, so maybe some Kroger stores would have them too. Here's Wal-mart... Walmart.com: Whitmor 4-Color Wire Storage Cubes, Set of 4: Kids' & Teen Rooms They've got different colors, too. |

You should buy the 16 pack grids you found. You can always connect them with cable ties/zip ties. Or buy extra connectors from these places: Buy a C&C cage (bottom of page) Mini Gridwall Cube Connectors - Discount Shelving Everything Else - Plastic Storage Cube Connectors Amazon.com: Wire Cube Plastic Connectors (Set of 4): Kitchen & Dining Amazon.com: Wire Cube Connectors - Primary Colors - Set of 4 by Organize It All: Kitchen & Dining Coroplast - $10 GE Polymershapes, Branch Locator |

The only place I could find grids in my area (midwest) was Garden Ridge. Target grids are UNSAFE, Bed Bath and Beyond has safe grids but they only come in gray. Garden Ridge had black and white available in a 16 pack for $19.99. Zipties I feel have a much better hold, I only use the provided connectors for the "door". |
