Will closet shelving work instead of grids?

I'm having a hard time finding cubes with small enough openings at a reasonable price, and wondered if metal closet-organizer shelving will work? It seems to be painted with a very hard enamel, but since we haven't gotten our GPs yet, I don't know how much they'll chew on them, and whether the shelving is safe? Anybody tried this? Thanks.

If you mean the wire closet shelving that can be cut to size, then yes it would work.

It can indeed. I saw pictures in the gallery. Just make sure the pigs can't poke there little heads through the gaps.
    The find.com has grids.
