Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I have a girl guinea pig, about 3-4 months old, and I can't seem to train her! I can't find a method on how to train her. I've tried putting the food and water near the litter box, but it won't work. She goes in there only sometimes, hardly ever. please help! |

Have you identified the place she pees the most (I don't think you can ever litter train for poo, mine just poo constently)? If you have try putting a litter box there. |

My 6 male guinea pigs are about 80% potty trained. They only pee and poo a few times a day on their fleece and towels. I dont have a hay rack or hidies and that makes a huge difference. I put bedding (either carefresh, mega zorb, or yesterdays news kind of stuff in the bottom) and pile hay on top. Then I clean it 1-2 times a day. They sleep in them and they go and eat the hay in them. It keeps the cage much cleaner and much easier to clean. |

There is no method. Some pigs will train themselves; others won't. You can place a litter box in the area she uses most, but that's about it. |
