I searched through threads first about this question and didn't find it. Sorry if it has been asked before and I just didn't pay attention Anyway, my Dad was think of having a cage almost like the member who has Mojo and Mitzi and BeiBei(sorry forgot her name). Except this is how it would be built:A 2x5 cage(big enough for 3) A 1x1 1/2 kitchen area A loft added later on 10 inch Coroplast sides around the back and right and left sides. In the front however, the Coroplast would only be 6 inches high by 7 inches length. Could my piggies climb out then? |

I think you're talking about cutemomome's cage. DSC01321 - Guinea Pig Cage Photos After watching her videos on YouTube. I was gonna ask this question too. I personally don't think it's safe for my pigs because I know they are able to jump onto a bunkbed that's 6" high. I don't know if they'll attemp to jump out if there's no floor on the other side. (and I don't want to find out the hard way) |

Yes, they will be able to jump out. You should have grids surrounding the entire cage. |

There will be grids all around...I'm just saying its 4'' smaller then the around cage so my Guinea Pigs can climb onto the 6'' piece and lookout better because Carly and Sandy like to see outside their cage. |

Oh I see. It doesn't matter how tall the coroplast is as long as you have grids. They won't climb over the grids. But if you have babies, make sure it is babyproofed. It's good to have something for sides so the litter doesn't get kicked out, but it doesn't really matter how tall unless they are babies. |

Yeah, my Guinea Pigs just like to be able to see out. And on the question of Coroplast. My Dad thinks that if he rolls up the Coroplast(he's picking it up during work)that it will get creases and won't be able to use it. I told him people roll it up all the time but he doesn't think it will work? |

You can roll it, but it's kind of tricky. If you have a vehicle large enough to carry it flat, I would do that. Otherwise rolling it will be easiest if there are at least two of you. |

We have a Ford Freestar. My Dad was wondering how we were going to store it until we can build it. I was thinking of just building it to the shape so I could store it there until we can get the whole entire cage built. |

I rolled it and then creased it. It doesn't really affect the structural integrity to crease it. You can basically just use it like a regular sheet when you unfold it. For storage I just unrolled it and stuck it behind the couch until I was ready to make it. Glad you're finally making your cage. |

We had to cram mine into the trunk of a Nissan Altima. It creased down the middle, but it's structurally fine. It's pretty stable stuff |

Yeah well my Dad has to have an MRI Monday so we'll probably pick up the Coroplast before. Maybe they'll have pink! |
