I imagine injesting it could do harm.

I'd say it's okay as long as the guinea pigs can in noway have any access to it. SO I woulnd't use it on toys.

It's fine to use for taping coroplast together. Some pigs get curious and nibble on it. I've been using duct tape for years on the coroplast.

When we made our cage, we made sure to tape the flaps of the bottom part on the outside so they wouldn't want to nibble on the tape.

We also used some gorilla tape (like duct tape but stronger) when we made their litter box our of leftover Coroplast. They don't seem to have any interest in the tape (possibly because it's the same color as the plastic) and haven't bitten at it at all. So you could possibly find a tape that is somewhat similar in color and maybe they won't notice it?
