Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Ok so I am making a C&C cage tomorrow for my girls (excited!) and was wondering what I have to do (step by step) to fleece train them. Thanks much! Last edited by Paula; 06-28-09 at 10:18 pm. Reason: removing unnecessary emoticons |

I have never heard of fleece training. I didn't fleece train my girls. I just put them in the cage with fleece. |

Yes, there's no training involved in switching to fleece. You just put the fleece in and let the piggies back in. |

Do you mean potty train because you don't want them to pee and poo on the fleece? It's mostly impossible if that's what you mean. They will pee and poo where they want, but the fleece keeps them nice and dry. Just sweep up the poops about twice a day and you should be fine. |

Have you read about how fleece works? While you don't have to do anything to prepare the pig for the fleece, you do have to prepare the fleece for the pigs. Wash it and dry it three times to make sure it wicks properly. Have your absorbent under-layers ready too. You'll need a dustpan and broom or a vacuum or something else to scoop up poops daily. Read about how to use fleece at The Fleece Project thread. |

I have tried litter training but it didn't work for me. Pigs like to go where ever and when ever they want. Jus t spot clean twice a day. |
