Yes Thank you c&c cages!!!

I don't really know what this subject falls under, sorry. I got the grides in early today. I made a 2x3 plus a 1x3 loft for each of my two gps. I didn't have a place to go to get the Coroplast, so I'm using wood for support for both the top and the bottom of the levels on both cages, the wood is layered with 2 tarps that are nailed down on the wood under it. Then I have 2 layers of newspaper & 3 layers of fleece..... is that going to work good enough...or is there something better I can use besides wood and tarp to cover the bottom of the levels. I have the tarp fastened on the little girls cage a little higher up cause she is small and I have a fear of her sticking her head out and getting it caught. I ended up usuing all the connector it came with on the bottom level of the cages...so for the top levels I had to use ALOT of zip ties I did that for one square in the grids, then skipped one and did another and so on and so forth. It feels sucure, I tried hitting it and it didn't move and I tried shaking it and it didn't move. I still don't know if that is safe? when I first got the grides in and looked at them I thought it was going to be a really small cage but now that I look at it.. its 7 times the size of cages they were in. And I never seen them so active. They love it! And I love that they love it. I'm not trying to suck up to anyone.... but thank you thank you thank you. I finally feel like I done something good for them. I'm planning on making them both a 3x6 cage with a 2x6 loft. They will really be happy then. hehe. I can't explain it, they seem more peaceful and layed back now....its like they are finally home. I think Pippy & Gizmo wants me to say thanks for them too.

Re: Thank you c&c cages!!!

3 layers of fleece is too much. You want a few layers of something really absorbant (like towels) under a single layer of fleece.

Re: Thank you c&c cages!!!

I got my cage a little bit ago. My girls are so happy too. They used to hide in their pigloo most of the time and were very skittish. Now they run around and will actually come to me when I put veggies and hay in their cage. They seem so much happier. I'm going to make some beds for them. Unless anyone has suggestions for buying them. I'm not really a sower

Re: Thank you c&c cages!!!

Glad to hear your pigs are happy in their new palaces. It's amazing the difference it makes when they have room, isn't it? I was unspeakably grateful to this site when I saw how happy a C&C made my furry kids too. I bet you can't stop watching Pippy and Gizmo now! Might I suggest you say something on the testimonials page to help other people make the change? (right under the page title next to search )

Oh, and if by bed pads you mean incontinence type pads, they should do the job perfectly.
