If you have an upper level to your piggies' cage, what do they/you use it for? I'm finalizing my design for my two boars and am trying to use my coroplast wisely (i.e. if I put hay up top I'm going to want high sides, if not, it won't be necessary). I'm assuming a smaller upper deck than a lower deck. Thanks for any ideas. |

Mine use the loft for bedroom. They have bunkbed on 1x2 loft. |

My pigs have all their food, hay and water in a upstairs 2x2+1x1. Its good because it keeps all of their bedding off of the fleece downstairs. |

I have 2 boars who often like time away from each other so I have an extra kitchen/litter area and sleeping area in the loft (my loft is 2x1). I drape a towel over the top so it's all enclosed and cosy and I have an extra piece of coroplast on the sides where the kitchen is to keep the hay off my carpet. They seem to take it in turns to have a snooze up there. Mainly they just like running up and down the ramp though! |

My boys have their hay up there. It also can give them a bit of privacy from each other. They also have hay on the mail level too. |

My boys use the upstairs for hay and when I feed them veggies twice a day. They also sleep up there in their cozie sometimes and to get away from each other. My upstairs is 4x1. |

I have a 1 x 2 loft on a 2 x 5 lower level. The loft is filled with hay, which really keeps it off the fleece below and makes cleaning much easier! If your pigs don't use the ramp right away, make sure that they have food on the lower level until they get comfortable going into the loft. |

I have a 1x4 loft now. I have changed my cage three times in a one year span. I used to have a 2x4 upper level with a 3x4 bottom but that was a pain in the butt to clean. So I took it off to have just a 3x4 bottom. Now I just put up a 1x4 and it's working great. I have hay, water, pellets and veggies up there and they like it. I still keep hay on the bottom level and it gets every where but it's not a big deal. |

My piggy uses it to eat, so as you can imagine, she's up there A LOT! |

My pigs love running up and down the ramp! They also tend to nap upstairs in their cuddle cup and I have two kabobs upstairs that they chew on/play with from time to time. They also seem to go upstairs to beg for more veggies! |

Well I have a 2x3x2 level cage. My guys have the kitchen area and 2 houses upstairs. Downstairs is other housing and some more play room. I have an exterior ramp and all of my guys know how to use it....they seem to really enjoy it. I can share more information about the ramp if needed. |

I use two different hays in the cage, one upstairs (orchard grass) and one downstairs (timothy) to give them some incentive to go up there. I've got a towel hanging down about 1.5 grids in to split the top in half and now they will sleep right against each other on each side of the towel so they can't see each other. For the longest time the younger boar would use the upstairs as a hide out from the bully downstairs! |
