Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Can someone help me, by giving me information on alternative things I can use other than coroplast and grids? We klive in Canada and think that the prices on the cages here, and shipping would cost too much. Thanks in advance! |

You could possibly make your own. I have no idea where you live in Canada, but check out this link: Where? It'll show you were to find materials, just pick your location. |

I use the grids, but I use linoleum instead of coroplast. I couldn't find anyone who had sheets at a reasonable price at the time that I was building my cage. I found a scrap roll of linoleum at Home Depot for about $5 and it was the perfect size. It's not as easy to work with as the coroplast in terms of getting it shaped correctly I imagine, but once I got it trimmed down and zip tied to the grids, it's worked out well for us. Some people have said that linoluem can start to hold in odors, but so far I haven't had a problem with this. I spray it down with vinegar & water at cage cleaning time and let it soak for a little while. Do you have a Bed, Bath & Beyond type store in Canada? They have the same grids there. Also at Target, etc., though at Target you need to be mindful of the size of the "holes". The chrome ones are the right size. The supplies are readily available in some local chain stores so buying a cage and having it shipped isn't necessary in most cases. |

Where in Canada do you live? Is your community large enough to have Home Depot, Home Hardware, Ronas, or some such thing? Does it have a Zellers or Walmart? I'm in BC. You can do a C&C cage. Though it may look intimidating, it was ready quite easy to make. PM if you have any questions. Grids from Walmart and Coroplast from Home Depot was how I made mine. |

Finding out where you were was key... Much harder to find things in Nunavut! Prince things out. I think you'll find making a C&C most affordable. |
