Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I spent almost all day making a 2X4 C&C with a loft. None of my pigs popcorned or did anything! Is it just them, i mean they don't popcorn..or do they not like the cage? thanks in advance! Maybelle |

Probably will take them a while to adjust.. they probably don't see it as "YEAH! New digs!" .. instead it's like - "okay.. this is a new space.. umm.. where do I eat?" I'd think you just give it some time.. even though I understand how you feel. All day doing something special and they don't get it! Good for you for giving them a new special place! |

They're probably just scared. Some of my pigs FREAKED when they got their new room. Don't worry soon they'll love it. P.S. They "where do I eat" thing cracked me up P.S.S Here we go again every time I post first some does it at the same time |

I've spent a month trying to get our new piggies to popcorn.... No success yet. Maybe we need another one to show them how. |

I think in order for them to feel safe with the environment you introduce, they have to be first feel safe with you! It can also occur like that: to be trusting the environment first then the owner... but they will feel secure & happy (popcorn) when that trust & safe feeling is established. It can also differs from piggy to piggy. If you have a herd with a very untrusting pig at lead, most likely it will reflect onto the lesser pig. I know that my pigs trusts me. They popcorn for me when I first introduce them to their home (after an initial curiosity period of course). I have also build a second C&C (2 X 5) condo for my pig in the second floor of my home for when I clean out the bottom level / just a change of scenery or what ever (it was originally meant for a new adopt that just died even before introducing to the herd; was ready and I did not take it down), so they have an extra set-up to play in (just finished a couple days ago, that room does not have light so I can't really take a good pic with my cell). They pop-corn in that one too. They love floor time. Now they always pop-corn the minute I let them loose! That is a joy to see! |

Do you only have one cage??? How do you house the pregnant female that you have??? You will need 2 C&C cage at least if you are expecting babies, to keep the sex separated. |

I don't think mine have popcorn-ed yet and I've had them in the same cage for about seven months. I guess some guinea pigs see cages as something exciting and others see as a place that provides food and a hiding place. |

Thanks I see it. Why is there a bunny on the top portion on the top level with the ramp going up it from the main cage (where I presume is the "boy's section"). I do see that "pig" is at the bottom level. Does the bunny has its own original housing? Can't the bunny easily jump out of that top cage? |

How long you had them? My piggies didn't popcorn until they had about 3 months with me (the bonded pair) and Penny until she got used to the bonded pair. They need time to adjust to changes. |

Are your pigs older? Younger pigs popcorn more typically, it just depends on the pigs. Not really linked to dominance or trust. |
