I'm not sure which forum this should go in, so if this is the wrong one....so sorry, feel free to move it. I read somewhere that you can clean the cage with vinegar, but now I can't find it again. Can somebody tell me how to do this? Do you use straight vinegar or make a mixture of someting? I imagine you use white vinegar cause the other kind smells terrible! I've been using a non-toxic, small animal cage cleaner (for 3 years) and it works just fine, but I'm game to try something else if somebody can help me! Thanks!

Re: Cleaning the cage with vinegar Since this is a question regarding the cage, it would go in About Cages. I will move it. In addition to what Paula said, for tough spots/stains, you can use straight vinegar.

Re: Cleaning the cage with vinegar You can't go wrong with white vinegar. I use it undiluted to clean the hay bins, 50/50 with water to clean the cage floors, and a splash in the rinse water when washing the fleece. It's nice to be able to adjust the strength according to the application and not have to worry about whether it will harm the babies or not.

Re: Cleaning the cage with vinegar Hi, I too use white vinegar and water (50-50). It works well, and I buy the gallon size bottle from grocery stores. Saves me money.
