OK, so here's the situation. I am new to this whole C&C Cage thing, I have looked at all of the photos and instantly fell in love with them. I want to build one for my piggie Max this weekend. I know where to go for the grids and all of the supplies. But my main concern is; I have concrete flooring in my house and it gets pretty cold so I know I need my piggie up off the floor so he doesn't get cold. So I was thinking of making a storage area underneath to get the cage up, but I have no clue how to make one or even do the flooring of the first level. Let alone the second level. (I'm planning on adopting another boar within the next couple of weeks) If anyone can give me a floor plan or tips on how to support the flooring and even build one I would greatly appreciate it. I am planning on building a 2X5 first level, and then a 2X2 second level that will be used for the kitchen (I guess that's what you guys call it, where the food and water is at).

Re: How do I Start? http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...ry.php/cat/522 If you look in this gallery there are some great ideas for stands and storate underneath. The floor will just snap together with the grid connectors and you can make it extra secure with zip ties. You could also look through the galleries for ideas on making the loft area. Good luck!

Re: How do I Start? Being as this will be your first cage, why not start slow and just do one level for now to get the hang of building the cage and add on to it later.

Re: How do I Start? I went to Goodwill and found a coffee table that was just a smidge smaller than my 2x4 cage. It was about 14" high, too, so when I added onto my cage, I was able to just use grids to support the addition (which also has a patio brick in it, so when we say using the grids in conjunction with connectors and zip ties is sturdy, it's seriously true). This left me with cage support and umpteen extra grids for a whopping $6.50!
