| Wire cutters for Home Depot's shelving. How would you cut this Home Depot shelf? http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...hp/photo/11042 What kind of cutters? Do I have to just take it back to the store and have them cut it? Have any of y'all done it before and what did you use? Any help is greatly appreciated, as I'm stumped. |

| Re: Wire cutters for Home Depot's shelving. I would use bolt cutters - the heavy duty ones - like these: ![]() For the inner wires you might be able to use regular wire cutters, but the thicker end pieces look like they would require something more substantial. Though if you could get them to cut them for you for a reasonable fee or even free, that might be the best option if you don't have bolt cutters. Last edited by paula.m.moore : 06-12-08 at 04:44 pm. | Re: Wire cutters for Home Depot's shelving. I used circular miter saw with metal cutting blade. If you gonna do that, make sure to ware safety goggle, mask, and long sleeve shirt. Pretty dangerous to cut metals. |

| Re: Wire cutters for Home Depot's shelving. I had the two pieces of shelving I bought for my lid cut at Lowe's when I bought them. They did the cuts for free. I'm not sure if they would do it if you brought the shelves back in. If you do cut the shelves yourself, please report back what you used and how it worked for you. I'm thinking of changing the size of my cage and will need to recut my shelves as well. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you buy a pack of rubber end caps to go over the exposed edges of the cut wire. They are about $2 and usually in the same area in the shelving. |
