Um?? A little help????

I have half of the supplies to make the boys a new cage but I'm not sure on how to make it. I don't quite understand how you connect the grids? Would it be ok if I had the boy's cage inside of a kiddie pool? Of course it would not be filled with water!

Re: Um?? A little help????

Bamby, some use the connectors that come with the grids and add zipties at the connection sites. Others, like myself, just ziptie the grids together at 2-3 points along each side where grids meet. It depends on your personal preference. I think that just using zipties makes for an easier fit for the coroplast. If you just use zipties and not the connectors, you could curve the sides to fit the pool, which is fine (as long as it is big enough for the number of pigs that you have) if the pool is circular. Keep us posted as to your progress and, by all means, enjoy the project.

I used the connectors but they are a pain in the rump sometimes they stay in place while your doing another area and sometimes they don't. Buy Plenty of zip ties that is all I say. I think the connectors make it stronger but haven't done one without so not sure.

I had the same problem. I used zip ties at every point the connectors meet grids. It made it very sturdy.

Re: Um?? A little help????

I now have the sip ties but when I was putting it together I didn't zip tie it in case something happened and it didn't fit right.

Re: Um?? A little help????

You can buy zip ties from any DIY store or Wal-Mart. Just about anywhere has them really. They may be listed under cable ties or zip cords. The grids just slide into the connectors.

Re: Um?? A little help????

You can even buy them at home depot. I got a container of cable ties from there for $7. It contained a little over 600 cable ties.

You can also buy a large pack (60, I think) of various size cable ties at a dollar store.
