My guys jump off the loft rather than use the ramp!

Ok, I made a loft, but didn't want it to be really high (didn't want a cage that was 2 grids high). So the coroplast goes up 6" on the side, and I made the loft (2X1)*just* above that, attached with cable ties to the sides and a connector to attach to each other.

I have one adult males and 2 smaller males. The adult jumps UP to the loft all the time and so does one of the little ones. He jumps around the cage all the time. It's so funny the way the adult gets down- he puts one foot on the top of the coroplast (covered w/ fleece) and then hops down. The little one just dives right off.

My other little guy can't jump at all - doesn't even try - when he gets to the edge he just finds the ramp and goes down.

So is there any danger in having them jump UP and down about 6 inches? Landing on fleece with the padding underneath is pretty soft.

you should probably have something to keep them from falling off. Like grids or one of those play pens. Better safe than sorry.
