What can I use?

What can I put into Peanut's cage to keep him warm? It is freezing in our house and my mom won't raise up the heat. Help!

Re: What can I use?

You can put a piece of fleece in there, a towel, a sheet, and or lots of hay for him to lay in.

Re: What can I use?

Extra hay to burrow in. Fleece blankets to get under. If you leave an edge up they will scoot under to hide and stay warm. You can make your own hot water bottle with a plastic or glass bottle(water or soda bottle). Add hot tap water, wrap in towel or fleece. Change out as needed.

Re: What can I use?

How about a fleece cuddle sack?

I bought one from The Cozy Cavy - Cotton Cozy Saks and one from eBay Store - The Pampered Pig: Sleep Snuggle Sacks: Guinea Pig Small Animal Sleep Sack-Batman 13x15

The cozy cavy one stays open better, but is smaller. They've both warm and cozy places a cavy or two could go snuggle in if they were cold.

I need it right away, Pheonix Feather, so that might not be an option.

Re: What can I use?

I just use a scrap of fleece (about 1ft. by 2 ft.) tossed over the back of the hay pile at night and I will find my piggies all snuggled under it in the morning!

Re: What can I use?

I have the same problem.

What I do is I cover his cage so that way some of the warmth sort of stays in there.

If you have an igloo, you can use that. My pig stays very warm in it because the air cannot escape so easily and he has fun in it too!
