would this just be a good time to let them run free or should i try to get a little cage to house them while it is being cleaned? |

It would be a good time to let them run around, but be sure there is no plastic, wires or small spaces they could get into. |

What I do is I use some of the extra squares and block off things that I dont want them getting into. Then I cover the floor with newspaper and towels. It takes me anywhere from one-two hours to finish cleaning their cage so they get a lot of floor time. |

I put them in their old pet store cage with a couple of treats for them to munch on. |

I leave mine in the cage while I clean but I have a 2 level and I keep them on the level I am not cleaning by raising the ramp. |

I have a laundry basket that I use solely for the piggy’s that I put an old towel in that I use whenever I have to transport them around the apartment. This way I can transport both at one time and I don’t have to worry about them squirting out of my hands and falling. I use it whenever I take them out of the cage for floor time, lap time, or cage cleaning when I don’t have the time to setup their 4x7 grid floor time pen. If they have to stay in there for a cage cleaning I give them some wet lettuce so they can eat and hydrate. |
