Frequent Cage Change?

Basically, I'm thinking of getting a guinea pig, or preferably two. I've been reading up on them, to make sure I'll be able to look after them properly if I do decide to get some.
The thing is, I regularly go to another house during the weekends and I have read that changes in environment can cause the guinea pigs a lot of stress. So i was wondering, would transferring them into another cage (for about one weekend each month) be a viable option?
Also, the journey would be by car (taking about 2-3 hours), so I would need to take them in some sort of pet carrier.

So bascially, I am wondering if these frequent cage changes would be unduly stressful for them? I was thinking maybe some sort of collapsable or fold-up cage, but I don't know if that would be any better.

Hm, would it be possible to ask someone to check in and feed them during that weeked each month? I say this because it may well stress he pigs.
There's bound to be someone on here who knows a bit more about travelling with guinea pigs so I'd wait for their advice
