Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Sadly by baby passed away, and I am not going to get another pig until my daughter is older. I was asked by a friend who wants Ferrets if I could make my cage larger for them. Is this possible? Can the same type of cage be used for Ferrets? |

Yes, you can use C&C cages for ferrets. The gallery has some pictures http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...=&way=&cat=531 |

Ferrets are very active when awake so the bigger the better! Give them lots of levels with tubes to climb and slid through, hamocks, hidey holes ets... For 2 ferrets I would not personally go smaller then a 2x4 or 3x3 that is at least 3 or 4 grids/levels high. |

It depends on the size/age of the ferret. I once had a very small ferret that may have been able to get through the grids, most adult ferrets though I don't think would fit but babies and sub adults could slip through. |

I just talked to her, shes getting a baby one. Could I put some type of screen over the cage until it was bigger? not sure how safe that would be. |

By overlapping the grids you can "babyproof" it. Look in the gallery to get some ideas http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...ry.php/cat/532 I certainly hope your friend is adopting. There are ferret rescues everywhere and the 2 main mills that breed and sell ferrets to petstores are horrible places. |

It looks like there's a ferret rescue very close to you... West Michigan Ferret Connection According to GoogleMaps, it's only about a 35 minute drive. |
