rabbits and fleece???

fleece for rabbits??
i have two c&c cages for my four rabbits,i use carefresh for them now, they are litter box trained and they are very good with that,i dont see any use for the carefresh if they dont need it,i think it might be less money for me to spend on bedding too.does anyone have a rabbit that has fleece??
does anyone know if they will like it????
will they chew holes in it?????
if they chew on the fleece does anyone know any alternative?

Re: rabbits and fleece???

I use fleece in Combat's C&C cage and I like it fine. ^_^

He's very lethargic though, so if your bunny is more hyper and active then he/she may chew holes in it.

Re: rabbits and fleece???

IMO, I can't imagine fleece with newspaper underneath would be enough to absorbe the urine of my rabbits. Also, be careful that your rabbit does not chew and eat the fabric. Fabric can not be digested and might cause intestinal blockages.

I use kiln-dried wood pellets in the litter boxes. It's the most absorbent, non-smelly stuff I've found so far. Plus it's also the most economical. Farm/feed store brands of it go for $5 for 40-50 lbs. I don't have much else on the floor besides a grass mat, cardboard boxes, and other toys. I do give one of my bunny pairs flat dish towels to lie on, but I watched them like a hawk for weeks until I was sure they weren't going to eat them. My other two rabbits would eat the towels overnight.

Are your cage floors slippery that you have to cover them with litter? There are less slippery types of lino and stick-on tiles.
