Question ramps

I'm wondering what you do for traction? I was thinking of wraping some coro in fleece but I wasn't sure. I'm also curious as to how I can coax them to go up it. It is 3 grids: a bent grid that leads up to a flat landing, then another bet grid that leads to their 2 by 2 upper level, and what can i do on the flat landing so that they don't walk off? Do they have hight sense to where they won't jump off the edge or should I put a higher side on the the open edge?

Re: ramps

On my ramp, I used an outdoor mat turned upside down, so the grippy side is facing up, then attached it to the ramp using zip ties. The way you describe it, the gap you're worried about is only a half grid high? That is fine, if they do jump, it's not a big fall.

Re: ramps

It is exactly half a gird high, that way big ol' Hagrid can't climb out and it wouldn't be too low and make the ramp to the top too steep. So like a welcome mat kind of thing is what you use?

Koolness, I can almost walk to one of those from my house. Do you remember how much it cost? Was it more or less than 5 bucks. Because I have 5 dollars to spend, and I'm not phsyco enough to ask my folks for anymore money, seeing as they spent 300 bucks on new school clothes for me and my sis, mostly on me. Haha, sorry just have to share this but Harry is running laps and popcorning! He is just TOO CUTE!

Re: ramps

Cool, I can walk there on my way home from football practice Monday (I'm a student athletic trainer at my high school) and then I can finish the ramp. Now how do I get them to go up it?

IT'S DONE!!!!! I finally finished the boys cage. I also changed from carefresh to fleece. The ramp is complete and they've already started using it. Ugh, I'm so tired, but it was way worth the work! When I plopped the guys in it they imedeately started running around and popcorning. To describe the cage in great detail (no pictures yet, I've got to persuade my folks to let me borrow their camera, mine's broken and I can't pay to fix it): The bottom level it a 2 by 4 C&C. I got the grids at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for 16.00 a box (2 boxes), and the coro at a place, I don't remember the name right now, for 8.25 for a 8' by 4' sheet. Then the ramp is one grid folded to make an "L" attatced to a flat grid, with another grid leading, also folded like an "L", up to the second level. The second level is a 2 by 2 C&C. The entire thing is fleece lined with Four Paws "Wee-Wee Pads" (Puppy pads) to absorb the the "wee-wee". Urg, now I'm going to go pass out.
