Question Need another ramp covering...she is eating it!

I am needing suggestions on another ramp covering that will be safe for my girls. I currently have a kitchen rug turned upside down, the rubber side up. I had to put the rubber side up because that is the only way they could go up and down their ramp without sliding. Zoe is chewing on it ALOT! I catch her doing it at different times of the day constantly. I know this is not good for her. I am needing any suggestions that you all might have, that will be safe and that she will not chew on. She doesn't chew on anything else but the rug. They have plenty of toys to play with and all. Any suggestions anybody?

I use a cheap door mat that I cut and use zip ties to attach it to the grid ramp. Never had a problem and I have 9 pigs.

On my ramp I have a small piece of fleece folded 3 times and sewn on to the ramp. My piggers chew on every thing but not on that.

Re: Need another ramp covering...she is eating it!

My one piggy decided that the carpeting on her ramp was good to eat too but after a few days she stopped chewing it. I guess she decided it wasn't good food. My girls usually chew on new things in their cage but after its been in there for a few days they stop.

You can try to find bamboo, sea grass or sisel mats, rugs or placemats. All are safe if your GPs chew or eat them.

Re: Need another ramp covering...she is eating it!

I use that gripper shelf liner - it's rubbery, but not solid and my piggies don't chew it at all. I wrap it around the ramp a couple layers thick and use zipties to secure it.

It's $1 for a roll at walmart in the shelf liner aisle.
