Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Finally! I have finished my cage! My friend picked up the coroplast today, and we went to Target after work to get the cubes. After fighting with them for HOURS, it's done! It is not the 2x4 with a loft that I wanted, but it is one a stand, which I did want. There is a nice L-shaped bent grid on the left side of the 3rd "cube", for support, and I can tuck hay against it, while it still gives them room to run around the perimeter of the cage. They don't know what to do with themselves! All I could do was stand there and stare as the girls scampered about. Talked to my fiance about switching to fleece, he likes the idea of being able to just vaccuum off the fleece instead of having to fight the pan out, or scooping all the shavings out. I think I saw Callie popcorn once, and when they move, they sort of chitter to themselves, so I think they're amazed too. Pictures to come soon! |

I too can not wait to see some pictures of your new cage. Congrats to you and your pigs on the new home setup. Fleece is so nice to use as bedding. With 3 different cages to clean out it sure makes my life a lot easier. |

Yeah, when I told my fiance that we can use velcro on the bottom, and just vaccuum it clean, and wash it once a week, he got really interested. His first question, of course, was "what's the inital cost?" I told him I rarely by any fabric for over $6 a yard, and usually significantly less than that. I'm thinking 2 yards? should cover the bottom. |

Two yards should do it. I always go to Joanne Fabrics. They almsot always have a sale on fleece going on. My first set I got for three dollars a yard, but my second set I totally splurged and got the really expensive stuff at ten dollars. I just fell in love with the pattern. |

It was sort of an accident that it came out red and white. You know I live in Tuscaloosa right? yeah.... so much around here is red and white. :3 |

I really like the red coro. super job well done! When you go to Wally World ask about the solid fleece that sells for less than the regular fleece. Here it is $4.44/yd but I can't say that is what it will be in your area. It was a special thing the company got. It is not the same as their regular solid or patterned fleece. the colors are pastel and may not go well with your cage. |

The black faced one is callie, short for calliope, and she's my little punk rocker, because of her mohawk. She's technically my fiance's but I loves her. |

It's terribly simple at this point I know. Oh! I got some red fleece for it too. It's kind of funny, red just ended up being the kind that looked like it would bead up the liquid pretty well. I wanted charcoal, but eh well, it's already a red and white cage as it is. I got a couple bird toys for the girls, one that has wooden parts and a wee bell, and one with rope and plastic hoops at the bottom for them to pull on. They act like they're afraid of the bell, but I've heard it ring from time to time. I added a huge hayrack, I should post that too. |

I have a windchime in my cage. At first the boys were scared of it, now it's their favorite toy. It just takes them a while to figure out it's nothing dangerous. |
