Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
So, my husband and I needed a fun weekend project and we happened to see that Target had their organize grids, (the same grids we had on our C&C cage already) for $10 a box (well ($14.99 and they give you a gift of a $5 Target gift card), so we decided our two boys (Rowan and Rupert) needed a loft and we needed storage space. So, we put together two squares of grids and put them behind the cage and attached them on to the original cage. Then we built up the sides and storage area attached next to it. Then we went to Home Depot to figure out a good ramp and we discovered, the roof drainage pans were perfect with the addition of a piece of stair carpet to add good grip for the boys. We attached the carpet to the drainage pan/ramp by poking holes into each and attaching them with ties. Then we poked more holes into the ramp and attached the ramp to the cage with numerous ties that are covered by the rug. We lastly, took an extra piece of cloroplast and put it into the cage along with a piece of cardboard cover over the top of the loft for piggie comfort. I hope I did an all right job describing it for anyone who needs help. Here are the pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice job on the loft do they use the ramp at all? That may be allitle step though. Bromers would not go up it but he is scared of a carrot. |

They fly up and down the ramp. If you look at the pictures I posted, both boys are up in the loft. My hyper active Rowan especially, just runs up and down all day without reason, (especially when doing his strange head-swigging, hopping, popcorning for hay)! It isn't really very steep, (gradient of over a grid and a half) and the oriental rug gives good traction for speed. Rupert likes to take a flying leap and jump the first quarter of the ramp when going up. (Haven't been able to catch a pic of it yet, but I keep trying.) |
