You just have the option to do it. It is possible and as far as I know it is supposed to be possible - I remember asking this same question a while back.
Whether or not it was an accident - no idea, but I'm guessing that since the poster later apologized, it was intentional. If it wasn't, I'm sure s/he'll come back and rectify the situation.
