Indeed. There's no reason to even worry about what other animal predators there are in the area as long as there are humans around. People do horrible things, and far more regularly than other animals, I'm sure, so its asinine to let ever your pet be sitting prey for a person looking to do harm. Leaving them outside unattended does exactly that, and that's far beyond irresponsible.
