Okay, I posted the math in another thread, and with a minimum of sewing experience, a modicum of perfectionism, and a LOT of
Cavy Spoiling Love, I have gone from fabric to fleece liner in one hour. The
cavy bedspreads are
lovely and if you have the money to do it, I highly recommend them. I'm a bit strapped, so I got enough to do two fleeces and towels for $40 from Wal-mart. Their fleece only required two washes and wicks like a dream.
The math once more. Measure the inside dimensions of your cage (x by y) and the height of your walls (h). I doubled the height to be sure it could not be pulled up: x + 4h by y + 4h. Then measure a square on each corner equal to 2h by 2h. Put the cut corners together and sew. I opened the seams and sewed them again just for a lovely finished look. My top floor was more complex and open on one side, but I won't bore you with that unless someone asks.
Now the liner is finished, and I get to clear out the last of the nasty bedding (I'd hate to wallow in that) for the last time! And I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for all of their wonderful work and suggestions, I couldn't have done it, and would not have even KNOWN about the ease and wonder of fleece.
