Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Re: 2 girls need someone to spoil them | | Thanks, wigglesgiggles1, it was a hard decision. I always feel when I own a pet that I am responsible to give it a high quality of life, and I felt like I wasn't doing that for the piggie girls. Others were saying "They're just guinea pigs. I wouldn't have those things in my living room! They are so messy...just get rid of them so you don't have to deal with their mess."
The "mess" did require a lot of time. The last month or two there were a couple times I went almost 48 hours before I found the time to clean their poops off the fleece. I thought that was no way for the sweet girls to live (though they didn't seem to mind as they popcorned in the poo--ha ha). As summer came, we had less and less time for lap time. The money factor kicked in when they cut hours/pay on everyone where my hubby works, and then our washing machine started going out (which made it harder to keep up with cleening the fleece).
Anyway, I'm rambling...I'm just glad the girls will have their needs met on a higher level now. I may still linger around this site some in case our situation changes a few years down the road. Thanks to everyone for the kind help and info I've received on this site over the last 7 months! |
