Unhappy My piggy has a herniated disk

Yesterday morning I noticed one of my piggies was dragging her hind legs. I got a vet appt. within the hour. When I got there they stated she has a herniated disk. They put her on Dexamethasone .5 injections. They told me if she was not better by Friday to bring her in to have her laid to rest. That does not seem very long to see if she will recover does it? I have read some threads it has taken up to 3 months to fully recover from a herniated disk. I took her to the only vet here in town that handled "pocket pets" in which they said Cavies fall under. She is laying there sleeping, eating, drinking looking around. She does not have any shakes or make any noises when we pick her up & she crawls right up onto our shoulders like she always has.

Any Suggestions or any experiances with the same situation?

Thanks for any help I can get.
