Thinking about getting some piggies

Hey there -

So I'm about to be a first time piggy owner. I've read all over the main site of the forum and checked out countless book (most of which were outdated with their information). I think I'm ready to own a guinea pig.

The only problem is I have to wait.

I'm currently in the process of moving and my current landlord won't let me get any more pets ( I alread have tw Robo hamsters). So I have to find a roommate and a place to live ( wish me luck).

So my question is...Is there anything I can be doing to prepare to have guinea pigs? Is there any advice that you might have for a first time owner? Also, are there any big differances between boars and sows?
