As soon as we got home from the feed store the "cage" was in the trash as she got settled into one of my waiting quarantine cages (I keep two cleaned/disinfected ones on hand at all times) with a nice salad and a bunch of fresh hay and real quality Oxbow pellets.
She doesn't even know what to make of it all. She got the old "guinea pig diet" of iceburg and carrots - won't touch the good stuff yet.
I will keep you all updated. Oh, I have named her Artemis, who is the goddess of animals. Will call her Missy for short.
She needs a good strong name to get thru this without deep emotional scars.
