This is what I do. The mattress pad is cut to fit the interior dimensions of the coro, then I cut the fleece 2" wider/longer so that it can wrap around the edges of the mattress pad, and then sew along the seam. NO exposed threads or polyfill that way.

I do have a couple of pads with an extra layer of bamboo batting, so it goes fleece, batting, mattress pad. They was very very well. I have 3 changes worth. I can go 2-3 days between washes.

I do have 2 condos that I use these piggy pads in, so when I clean, it's a full load of laundry and I dont' have to run teh pads with any of our human things.
